Medicines

We have a robust policy and strict procedures for handling medicines in school that comply with the statutory guidance brought out in 2014. All medicines sent into school must be in the original container as dispensed by the pharmacy. It must be clearly labelled with the student’s name, exact dosage and timing, and not past the expiry date. All medicines must be handed to the bus escorts, who will hand all medicines to the senior member of staff on duty at the front door each day.

Parents and carers of students who take regular medications will be asked to sign a consent form confirming that they will provide the correct medication and inform school of any changes. We are not allowed to give medication without signed consent and prescription labels on bottles.
